This photo made me cry both happy and sad tears.

Sad for the longing that you feel for little Eliot. As a mommy, I can't even imagine that void. Even still, as a fellow lover of Christ I stand beside you in the deep parts with my hand on your shoulder crying with you in your pain.

Happy for the unbelievable touch of God that Eliot was to so many people. More than you will probably ever know. I imagine his purpose billowing out into the universe like the shocks from an earthquake. Except his waves will never end.

Sending lots of hugs to you both,
Michelle

Once again your entry, even without words, has spoken to my heart. My elderly father is in the midst of dying and I am trying to memorize him as he lays on his bed. I believe it is very important to remember, just as you have done with your photo.

Remembering is both a joyful and sorrowful experience. Yet without it, we would forget that God was indeed present and met each cry of our hearts along the way.

Your journey continues. Your Heavenly Father is still walking with you, still hearing the cry of your heart.

"In this you greatly rejoice, though for a little time you have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trails. These have come so that your faith - which is worth more than gold, which perishes though even refined - will prove geniune. Though you have not seen Him, you love Him. And even though you don't see Him know, you believe and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls." I Peter 1:6-9

I agree with the other commenter, what a very happy and sad photo. The three of you are a beautiful family and have touched countless people in so many ways. God bless you all the days of your lives, just as you blessed Eliot every single moment of his.

What a beautiful story. May the blessings you have given to others through little Eliot's story return to you 100 fold.
Happy Anniversary.
